With the end of the month of Ramadan and the Eid holiday last week, executions have resumed in Iran, Iraq and Somalia.
On
August 14th six prisoners were hanged in Karoun Prison in Ahwaz
(southwestern Iran) for kidnapping and raping ten women in Shushter (a
city in the province of Khuzestan).Four of the prisoners were identified
as Ali Naz, Ali Hossein, Mohammad, and Nobar.
Unusually,
although the hanging was within the prison, it was photographed and a
reasonably sophisticated gallows used, with a trap door. See below
A
further three men, Meraj T., Ali A. and Milad P. (ages 20-24 years)
were hanged in public for rape and robbery in the Iranian city of Karaj
west of Tehran on Sunday the 18th of August and their executions
photographed.
On Saturday the 17th one man,
