The so-called guard was alleged to have lured the lady who came to seek assistance from the Emir through him, as she was preparing for a wedding.

The Emir of Zazzau, Ambassador Nuhu Bamali, has ordered dismissal of a palace guard, Sama’ila Abubakar Rimin Tsiwa, who allegedly led others to rape a lady in Zaria, Kaduna State.

The traditional ruler also asked for police investigation and prosecution of the culprit. The Emirate council said it dismissed the guard with immediate effect for participating in raping the lady who was on a mission to the palace.

The so-called guard was alleged to have lured the lady who came to seek assistance from the Emir through him, as she was preparing for a wedding.

However, instead of taking the lady to the Emir, the suspect took her to a location with other friends, where they gang-raped her.

According to a statement from the Media and Publicity Office of the Emir, which was signed by one Abdullahi Aliyu Kwarbai, the council has directed the police to speed up investigation and ensure prosecution of the culprits without delay.

Kwarbai said: “The Emirate also promised to follow up with the case and ensure justice is done to the lady.”
